The adventure begins in the enchanting Kashmir Valley, followed by a spectacular drive through winding Himalayan roads to Kargil, passing through Drass, known as the world’s second coldest inhabited place. As we continue toward Zanskar, the route leads through the breathtaking Suru Valley, where the majestic Nun and Kun peaks dominate the skyline, creating one of the most scenic drives in the entire Himalayas.

Itinerary ( 10 days )

Arrive Leh

Arrive leh. You will be received and escorted to your hotel by our representative. Complete rest is suggested for the first day. Overnight Hotel.

Excursion of Shey, Thiksey and Stok

Today we will go for a day’s excursion to Thiksey Monastery and Shey and Stok Palaces. This will be your introduction to Tibetan Buddhism along with history and culture of Ladakh. Overnight Hotel.

Kargil-Leh (250 kms)

Today we will drive from Kargil to Leh. Enroute we will make stops at Rock Statue Mulbekh, Fotula Pass, Lamayuru Monastery and Alchi Monastic Complex. At Alchi we will visit the world famous Alchi Monastic Complex which is also known as the Ajanta of the Himalayas for the breathtaking paintings and frescoes very much intact even after more than 1000 years. We will reach Leh by evening. Overnight Hotel.

Kargil – Rangdum

Today we will drive from Kargil to Rangdum. We will drive through the beautiful Suru Valley, making several stops to enjoy the view of magnificent Nun and Kun peaks. We will make stops around Parkachik to see the gigantic glaciers snouts. We will arrive Rangdum by late afternoon. Overnight Camp.

Rangdum – Padum

Today we will drive from Rangdum to Padum. At the start we will visit the Rangdum Monastery. And then we will make stops at Penzila and at the various Doksas on both sides of the Penzila Pass. Doksas are temporary summer houses for the people of Zanskar who come up to the mountains to raise their cattle in summer. We will reach Padum by late afternoon. Overnight Hotel.

Padum-Stongday-Zangla

Today we will set off for day’s excursion to Zangla and Stongday. Zangla is about 30 kms from Padum. At Zangla we will visit the Zangla Fort, which was built by the first ruling kings of Zanskar, their descendants still live in Zangla. We will visit the nearby nunnery. On our way back from Zangla we will drive up a steep road to reach Stonday Monastery, which is one of the highly perched Monasteries, giving a spell binding view of the Valley. We will drive back to Padum, and in the evening will visit the Padum Monastery. Overnight Hotel.

Padum-Bardan-Karsha

Today we will set off in the morning towards east to Bardan Monastery. One of the oldest Monasteries in Zanskar, Bardan belongs to the Drukpa Kagyu order. The Monastery is scenically located on a very big rock overlooking the Lungnak Chhu which meets Stod Chhu at Padum to give birth to Zanskar River. Will come back to Padum and drive to Karsha Monastery. It is the biggest Monastery in Zanskar, located on a picturesque mountain side. The evening view from atop the Monastery is marvelous, giving a pleasant sight of the whole valley. We will visit the nearby nunnery and then drive back to Padum. Overnight Hotel.

Padum to lamayuru

Today we will drive from Padum to Lamayuru via recently opened Singeyla Pass and the beautiful valleys and villages of the Singey Lalok region.

lamayuru to leh via alchi monastery

Today We Will First Visit The Lamayuru Monastery In The Morning And Then Continue With Our Drive To Leh. From Khalsi On We Will Be Driving Along The Indus River All The Way. Enroute We Will Take A Diversion To Visit The Alchi Monastic Complex, Which Is Known As Ajanta Of The Himalayas For The Breathtaking Paintings And Frescoes Very Much Intact Even After More Than 1000 Years. After Lunch At Alchi We Will Continue To Leh. Overnight Hotel.

Fly Out from Leh

You will be escorted to Leh Airport for your onward flight. Tour Ends.
